Labour enables more early years places

As part of the extension to Manor Park Communiy Centre more early years places have been created at the Olive Tree Montessori Nursery, which has also undergone a major refurbishment.

Labour provide the funding to support the building work through the council’s early years service to create more space in the nursery and offer 24 new places for two year olds in the borough.

The building work forms part of the council’s modernisation project for the whole of Manor Park Community Centre.

Cllr Shabnum Sadiq, cabinet member for children and education, said:

“Research has proven that children who get a good start in early years, perform better at school and later in life in their chosen career. I would urge all parents with 2, 3 or 4 year olds who are not already attending a nursery or children’s centre, to get in touch and find out what they are entitled to.”
